Best time of the year
It’s just days away till the Willow Grove campus will be buzzing with a new school year upon us. This past week, the campus was full of energy and excitement as many new students and families were able to tour the campus for the first time. Teachers are busy prepping their classrooms and will soon be ready for a brand new class of students. For many families, (yes, that includes parents too), this is their favorite time of the year as they meet new friends, experience new adventures and take the next step toward their education. On behalf of the Willow Grove Educational Foundation, we’d like to welcome everyone as we take that journey together.
While back-to-school time is mostly about the kids, the Willow Grove Educational Foundation (WGEF) is preparing to celebrate the "most wonderful time of the year" with a back-to-school adult cocktail party. On Saturday, August 23rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm, guests will enjoy cocktails, interesting wines, and flavorful beers, accompanied by a selection of delightful hors d'oeuvres prepared just for the occasion by Chef Justin Burlingame of Red Oven Pizza. Tickets are limited, so purchase tickets soon! This event is graciously hosted by KT and Hollan Thayer and all proceeds will benefit the WGEF.
Let’s go Grizzly Growth Fund!
WGEF is officially kicking off the 2014-2015 Grizzly Growth Fund. Through this annual direct contribution initiative, the foundation is able to raise the money that enables valuable and enriching programs for your children, that they would not be able to experience otherwise due to budget cuts. These instrumental programs include: Impact Teachers and Kindergarten Aides, Advanced Technology (laptops and iPads), Music, Art, Physical Education, Science and Engineering Instruction and more! To be able to continue to fund these programs and explore additional programs, the foundation requests $350 per student donation. If you work for a company that has charitable donation matching, please be sure to request it or let us know. Don’t forget, your donation is tax deductible. For more information or to make your donation online, go to Grizzly Growth Fund.
This year will be full of fun and “FUN-draising” for the foundation. We’ll keep you posted throughout the year through the website and encourage you to “like” our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for all the latest news and updates.
