Ah, springtime and there’s a buzz in the air. We’re not talking about the bees buzzing. It’s time for our Spring Fundraiser Event and it’s sure to be spectacular! On Saturday, April 30th, the Educational Foundation, in partnership with our sponsors, will host Speakeasy Soirée, presented by Joe Leventhal of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. Beginning today, you can purchase tickets online and be on the exclusive “list” of attendees.
This year, it’s all about that Jazz, a Gatsby-inspired night, full of fun. Join your friends as we take a step back to the days of the Roaring 20’s and prohibition, where fashion was chic and popping nightclubs were the place to be. A time where silent films, Art Deco, Jazz, Blues, and fashion exploded. Mingle with the best of the best and pose for the paparazzi.
Here’swhat you need to know to make your night special.
Details. Location is a secret as well as how to get in! Ok, we’ll just go ahead and tell you that part. Be ready for an amazing night under the stars at the Del Sur Ranch House, where glamour and glitz is what it’s all about. Event will take place from 5:00pm-10:00pm.
Attire. No pressure here…there’s so much that works with this theme. You do NOT need to go out and buy something. Think Roaring 20’s, Jazz and Gatsby-inspired fashion. Try a simple cocktail dress or pants and top, whatever you might wear for a night out. So much can come by accessorizing. Add a little sparkle, pearls or maybe vintage-inspired jewelry for the gals. For the guys it might be a vest, suspenders or a cool hat. Dress to fit the theme or not, it’s all up to you! Most of the event will be outdoors though, so remember that San Diego nights can get chilly.
Get there early. For the first 50 ladies to check in at the event, leave the accessorizing to us. You will receive a beautiful feather boa as a special Speakeasy giveaway!
Get on the “list”. This is sure to be a popular event and we’re expecting a big crowd. Help us out for planning purposes and take advantage of pre-event pricing and purchase tickets online today at www.willowgrovefoundation.org . In true Speakeasy fashion, there will be a secret password to enter the Soirée, which you’ll receive once you’ve purchased tickets.
What’s included? The Admission Price includes a complimentary welcome cocktail or glass of wine, tray passed appetizers during cocktail hour, live jazz music, fabulous dinner and dessert, casino-style games, fun in the photo booth, both silent and live auctions, a DJ and dancing till close.
Online Auction. If you are at the event you can participate in both the live auction and raffle items. However, anyone can purchase raffle tickets from Foundation members that will be on campus in the next few weeks. All silent auction items will be available for preview and online bidding on the evening of April 24th. Then you can start the bidding early or choose the max bid amount to secure an item.
Ok…here’s a really IMPORTANT tip! The best way to jumpstart your check-in/check-out process and get to all the fun is to register with your credit card online beforehand so that you are ready to start bidding.
To participate. There’s several ways to support this event. First is to attend. Whether you are new to Willow Grove or have been there a few years, this is the prime opportunity to meet your Grizzly family and friends! Next is to donate. There are lots of ways, such as the incredible silent and live auctions, raffle prizes, donate for casino “chips” to play, or straight donations are always accepted if you can’t make it to the event.
